Over 8,800 people lost their lives

Over 23,000 were injured in a 7.8 magnitude earthquake that hit Nepal’s capital Kathmandu and its surrounding areas on 25 April 2015. Just as things were getting back to normal, a second major earthquake struck on 12 May 2015 killing at least 117 people and injuring 2,500.
